Welcome

Welcome to the Greater Columbus Area Zoo and Aquarium School Program. The program is a cooperative effort by the Delaware/Union ESC, the Franklin County ESC, the Delaware Area Career Center and the Columbus Zoo & Aquarium. The Zoo & Aquarium School curriculum is rich in technology, zoology driven, research directed, career focused and application based. Come visit and help us make a difference.

Student Selection

Outstanding junior and senior students, from Delaware, Franklin and Union county schools are selected from among many qualified applicants, to study in the Zoo & Aquarium School Research Program. Students in the program have a strong interest in zoo related careers. Contact your local guidance department for application information or call (614) 724-3608 for details.

School Schedule

The Zoo & Aquarium School Program opens its doors for the 2005/2006 school year in August. The Zoo I program meets from 12:30 to 3:00, Monday through Friday. The Zoo II program will meet from 7:30am to 10:00am, Monday through Friday. The Zoo & Aquarium School Program is housed in the Conservation Education Building at the Columbus Zoo & Aquarium. Students earn 3 credits at the Zoo School (1 science, 1 math & 1 elective. ).

Zoo School Program Staff

 

The statistics teacher for the Zoo & Aquarium School Program is Dr. Bill Carman. Dr. Carman splits his day between the Zoo School and the Delaware Area Career Center.
